MICHAEL D. RUDY is a founding partner of MacDonald Rudy O’Neill & Yamauchi, a Limited Liability Law Partnership, LLP. Mr. Rudy founded the firm in 1992 and has concentrated his practice over the last two decades in the area of trust and estate litigation in both state and federal courts. Mr. Rudy has litigated extremely large trust and estate litigation contests as well as more modest size disputes throughout the State of Hawaii. Mr. Rudy’s practice is focused on wills, estates and trust litigation, business transactions and formations, contested guardianships and conservatorships, simple and complex probate, business and real property disputes.
Mr. Rudy received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in psychology from Princeton University in 1983. He then attended Hofstra University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1986.
In 2012, Mr. Rudy was named one of Hawaii’s Best Lawyers by Honolulu Magazine in the area of estate and trust litigation.
Mr. Rudy also litigates complex commercial litigation and has an additional extensive health care law practice representing various physicians, dentists and other allied health care professionals.
Mr. Rudy is member of the Massachusetts Bar having practiced in Massachusetts from 1986 to 1989. He has been a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association since 1989.
